Join us for free art workshop exploring printmaking techniques in an introduction session open to all. The session will be led by Old Manor Park Library Studio holder Fungai Marima. All materials are provided and we will have refreshments during the breaks. The session will be fun, relaxed and a chance for us to tell you about Rabbits Road Press and its community printing press facilities.
Fungai is a painter, printmaker based in East London. Fungai’s work is based on the human body and its interaction to its surroundings, spiritually and physically. She is intrigued by its stillness and subtle but deliberate movement, mainly having had a relationship with figures without faces from dreams and childhood memories from growing up in Zimbabwe and documentation of her adult life within the UK. The use of the few old photographs from Fungai’s childhood have assisted the reimagination of what her early years were like in Zimbabwe, the people I was in contact with, the memories she shared with family.
We invite you to bring an object or photo to the workshop which tells something of yourself. We will use it as a starting point for some of the printing.
Please wear clothes that you do not mind working in! We will start promptly at 10, doors open at 9.50.
Places are limited so please book and let us know if you are unable to attend so we can offer it to others. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-introduction-to-printmaking-at-rabbits-road-press-tickets-53131148696?aff=ebapi
