Dates: 22-26 July 2019 (2-7pm daily)
Venue: Rabbits Road Press, Old Manor Park Library, E12 5JY
Rabbits Road Press will be open for one week in July for Made Up School: Print and Matter, the summer school is inspired by RRP faves Corita Kent and See Red Women’s Workshop. The week-long programme will include lots of making, printing and experimenting and aims to explore what it means to have an art practice that matters. The summer school is especially great for people who would like to complete a small self-directed print project at the press or to use the facilities to experiment and dedicate time to developing their practice using Riso.
The residency includes facilitated workshops, Riso technician support, table space and access to the Riso machine every day of the residency between 5-7pm (the cost of printing is not included in the price, a full price list can be found here*). There are 15 places available. Suitable for over 18s only. The summer school is run by artists and RRP staff Rosalie Schweiker and Sofia Niazi. A full schedule and reading list will be sent to participants ahead of the start date.
*Non RRP members will need to complete an induction to be able to use the Riso during the summer school, this costs £10 and is payable upon induction completion on the first day.
Read a blog post about last year’s RRP summer school here. The cost is subsidised by Create London and the facilitators to make the summer school accessible.
